Upholstery Foam for Dining Chairs and Wheelchair Seat Cushions
Category: foamrush 6 inch
High-density foam has a compression rate of 44 lbs, providing the perfect balance of cushioning and stiffness. It is soft yet maintains its firmness and support, allowing individuals to sit on it without the foam compressing too much. Compression, not density, determines the firmness of the foam. To avoid a cushion that is hard as a rock or a mattress that sinks when sat on, it is important to check the compression or ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) number.
Compression refers to the number of pounds necessary to compress a piece of foam by 25% and have it bounce back to its original thickness. For instance, a 4-inch thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs to pack it down 1 inch and return to its full 4-inch thickness has a 33 lb compression rating or ILD.
All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. It is recommended to use a ball-point pen or pencil to open the package, rather than a box cutter, to avoid damaging the foam. Start by making a small incision and break the foam from there.
Medium-density foam is used for firmness yet relaxable cushions. It has high-quality compression and materials to ensure it lasts for extended periods, even when subjected to heavy weight.
Our foam is certified for the highest quality, with a density of 1.8, a compression of 44 ILD, and a 100% recovery rate durability. This foam is perfect for revitalizing worn-out chairs, sofas, cushions, and other high-density replacement applications. It is uniquely formulated to provide the ideal balance of support, comfort, and longevity.
High-density firm foam is designed for heavy traffic and high-use applications, with a lifespan of 7-12 years. Our foam is CertiPUR-US certified, ensuring it is safe, non-toxic, and better for your health and the environment when compared to non-certified or non-regulated foam.
Foam can be customized for a variety of projects beyond just sofas and chairs. It can be used to repair worn-down chairs, create custom cushions for patio furniture, ottomans, stools, headboards, RVs, boat seats, car seats, golf cart seats, workout benches, cots, window seats, restore vintage furniture, and more. It can also be used as foam mattress toppers and carrying cases for delicate glass or ceramic items, as well as packing foam.
Our foam is easy to customize using tools such as a sharp knife, serrated knife, electric knife, or electric hot wire foam cutter. You can trim the edges or stack layers for extra thickness to meet your specific needs. The foam can also be glued together to create wider pieces or layered to form thicker cushions.
When receiving your foam, it is important to open the package immediately and avoid using a box cutter or anything sharp, as this may cut through and tear the foam. Remove the foam from the box and allow it to relax, as it may have been rolled and compressed. It can take up to 3-4 days for the foam to fully expand to its original size. Do not cut the foam until you have followed these product care instructions.
