To avoid a cushion that is as hard as a rock or a mattress that sinks when you sit on it, it is crucial to check the compression or ILD number.

Compression refers to the number of pounds necessary to compress a piece of foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For example, a 4-inch thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. to pack it down 1 inch and return to its full 4-inch thickness has a 33 lb. compression rating or ILD.

When receiving your foam, it is important to open the package immediately and use caution not to use anything sharp to open the shipping box, as you may cut through and tear the foam. Remove the foam from the shipping box and unroll it so that it may relax. Allow up to 3 to 4 days for the foam to fully expand to its original size, as it has been rolled into a bundle and compressed for shipping. Please do not cut your foam until you have followed these product care instructions.
